right lane end and race at light
Not a real race story but at a light in the right lane, I knew the lane ended and so guy in a jeep thought he could beat me and not let me in. I had my traction control off, dumped the cluch at about 1500, and just sat there and spun the tires. Let off and put it in second, and got ahead of the guy before the lane ended. Point being, I should have left the traction control on. Haven't got it in a street race yet, but I know it is only a matter of time. Do I leave the traction control on or off so I don't let the tireds burn. Car has stock tires (99 ss slp loud mouth/lid M6). New car to me this year.

its pretty easy to do a burnout, stoplight racing is often times won by whoever can control their car off the line
good luck and congrats on the new ride!

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
if it's a stock clutch, just feather it.
if it's a spec, take it to 1200 let it out, punch it.

You spun on a launch from 1500??? Sorry, but, were you forcing it to stay at 1500? Just curious cuz I have a 2000 with an M6 and I generally launch from 2000-2200. I don't stay on the gas right away though. I let it jump off the line, bog a little to make sure traction is there and then I jump back in it. I run regular street tires, nothing special. Even at that, I don't have too many problems getting a good launch.
Keep practicing. You'll get it down.

New car this year? I have had my 02 SS almost 3 years now. It is in my garage and only seen rain 3 times, but every time I get it out, someone usually 18-25 wants to race me. Luckily not too many modded rides since I have only lost a few times. Austin, TX Red Twin Turbo Supra! Man that car was fast! Went buy me while WFO in 3rd. Once he got in front of me, it smelled like it was also running NASA approved jet fuel! :firedevil But anyway, someone always wants to race. Mustangs are the biggest competitor I usually see and they are always fun, cause unless they are modded heavy you shame em. The best ones are when they have the girlfriends with them, so as you blow bye you can smile at them, if they are hotties of course.
