Odd ticket
Well let me first say I am 19 been driving for 4 years now and have had about 8 different "fast" cars.
I currently own a 1991 RS, 1999 Z28, and a 98 Z51 Corvette. I have never been pulled over let alone givin a warning or a ticket.
Well recently my mother had gotten out of the hostpital and I decided to visit her after quite a long day at work. I take a side road (30mph) and head back when a cop goes by me in the oncomming lane with another car infront of him when I slowed on the brakes a bit. I catch him pulling a U-Turn and stopped me. I was very polite and just mentioned I was having a very crappy long day. Still gave me a ticket for a 57 in a 30... I was in the 99 still on Temp tags. (Only had the car for 2 weeks)
My question is, was it possible for him to have an accurate reading like that? I feel there was no way I was going 57 at most 45. Also with my perfect record do you think I will get out of the ticket in court?
Another problem I noticed is I got the court info in the mail and it said "Excessive speed on a highway"? I am a little cunfuesd about that?
Just need some input what you guys think.

He is full of shit... he can't give you a precise reading of how fast you were going. If you were almost double the speed limit it would be obvious but there is no way he could say you were going EXACTLY 57mph.
fight it.. you will win

"Excessive speed on a highway" is because he didn't have you on radar and just guessed the speed. You can get out of it. I had cops let me off with warnings due the same thing. They say "you were going a bit to fast" I say "not really, how fast was I going?" they say "some bullshit speed" I say "Really??? can I see it?" They say "I'll be right back" they come back and had me a written warning and say "Watch your speed from now on. Next time it will be a ticket."
