89-formula 350 For Sale Must Go
Vehicle: 1989 Pontiac Formula 350 ~80K miles White on Gray. Built up for speed and handling with the best components, unfortunately, never got to use that speed. Interior 95%++ mint, original, condition. Missing nothing. Body in good condition, straight, some surface rust on floor pans, body solid. Could use some paint due to normal door dings. Front nose and rear “wing” have cracked paint due to age. Many modifications made and several have been performed and have zero miles on them. Car “project” was started then I had two kids back-to-back (11 months apart) and I haven’t had time to completely finish and, frankly, I’m tired of seeing it just sit and I know I won’t have time to enjoy it. My big loss could be someone’s gain. Car needs to have a heated O2 sensor installed (Bosch, included), a fusible link replaced, a new windshield, and the headers need to be attached to the convertors (3” Random Technologies, included) and the cat-back system. About two months ago I drained the old gas and refilled with 12 gallons of Shell Premium 93 octane gas, and some Stabil, in anticipation of getting the car completed. Well, it hasn’t happened.
Several parts have been installed but have 0 miles. Also, I have several parts that are still in the boxes. I’ll note those below. Also, the engine was replaced by a GM Pontiac dealer back in 1997 using all NEW GM parts the cost was just shy of $5,000 (only driven about 10,000 miles since). Prior to the engine replacement I installed an electronic pre-luber to the engine. The pre-luber flows 60+ psi through the engine prior to starting. The engine was started about 5 times after replacement without the pre-luber. After that the engine has NEVER BEEN STARTED DRY. This $400 device reduces wear on the engine to virtually nothing. Also, after break-in of about 3,000 miles the engine was always run on full synthetic oil and Mobil 1 oil filters. The transmission was rebuilt around the same time as the engine, by Atomic Transmission in Villa Park, IL, about $1,000. The differential was built by Currie Enterprises and installed by me in about 1998 or 1999, cost over $2,000. All three parts have less than 10,000 miles on them. Specs are below.
