Blue on White & Dark Blue- 70 TA RA III & 02 TA WS6
Formula WS6 vs Trans Am WS6?
I'm looking to buy a LS1 TA WS6, and I've found one where the guy claims that it's not a TA, just a Formula, but with the WS6 package.
He says it's identical to a TA WS6, differing only in name.
Can anyone confirm this? One friend has already suggested that the Formula WS6es didn't come with Ram Air, and so the guy must have added his Ram Air hood after purchasing the car.
Thanks

what year if the formula? Pretty sure there were no WS6 formulas after 2000. Easiest way to look is on the options code label on the driver's door. Look for the WS6 code and you know you're getting the real thing.

no they made them, they're just not as popular to see around. Basically, it's a stripper WS6. Very nice if you want to save the weight but it's not much.

The WS6 option was only available on LS1 equipped Formulas from '98-'00, with only 619 WS6 Formulas being made in those 3 years. The WS6 package was dropped after the '00 model year and not available on '01-'02 Formulas.
The differences between the WS6 T/A and the WS6 Formula are primarily cosmetic in nature. The T/A has the larger detached spoiler, the side flares, and a different rear bumper and different nose. Performance-wise, pretty much the same, same engine, same suspention and transmission, if anything the Formula has a slight edge due to being a bit lighter than the T/A. If in fact it's a WS6 Formula, you may want to jump on it, they are pretty rare...

That's not a seat cover. It was the 2005 Texas State Fair in Dallas. While there I won a purple M&M guy because they couldn't guess my age. So I stuck him in the passenger seat.

Thanks for the info, folks. It's a 2000 model, so the info matches up with what you're saying - he said it was the last year that it was offered. I do prefer the look of the TA though, so I'll pass on this one.

if its a good price you really shouldnt pass
if you like the t/a better you could get a rear bumper, ground f/x, and trunk for pretty cheap, not worry about the front bumper and have a ws6 formy... when they get to be worth more due to rarity you could take it back to stock and sell it (because you kept all the parts laying around)
