Which lids better
I have a whisper lid on my 99 Formula and I wanted to know if an SLP lid is any better. Should I just keep the Whisper with the K&N and buy the cold air induction for it. Does the cold air make any difference and if so how much.
My mods on the 99 FORMULA
Whisper lid, K&N, B&M Short Throw, CAI, Magna Flow Exhaust, UMI torque arm, FT LT hdrs, ORY, dual cutouts, 4.11 Gears, BMR SFC, BMR MSB, BMR lower control arms, Poly motor and tranny mounts, 575/568 232/227 111 lobe cam, Taylor wires, ngk tr55s,1 10in. JL W3 for beat.

The clips on my SLP Lid wanted to come unsnapped too. I loosened the clamp on the smooth bellows at the TB and pushed hard the lid into the retainers. They looked like they were seated far enough but really weren't, they needed a little more. Now they stay clipped.

Keep your lid...and fix the clips popping off problem. Fortunately, I've never had a problem with the clips on my SLP lid.
Yes, the cold air does make a difference, perhaps 10 HP or so on your car.
