I just talked to a guy at work who said he's got his name in for one(Challenger) at the dealership. I asked him what they are gonna go for and he said MSRP around $45,000.00 but the dealers will mark them up. If it goes over $50,000.00 he's pulling out. This guy is an AVP where I work and has many nice cars.

45k....damn that's just too much. That's vette territory right there and everyone knows it's not going to handle like a vette...might not be as fast with all that weight

Chrysler's top sales and marketing executive, Joe Eberhardt, has said in the past that a production version of the Challenger could be priced slightly higher than the Ford Mustang, which has a starting price of between $19,000 and $26,000 depending on engine choice and other options.
"One of the keys for Challenger will be pricing," Csere said. "It can't be priced too much higher than the Mustang or they won't be able to reach the sales volumes they need."
especially considering the fact that the cheapest SRT8 is around $38K
and on top of that they want to make challenger limited production car, that usually raises the price
I think they are all full of it. The price will be over $40K and limited production. I'll wait for Camaro.

Ya maybe for a 5.7 litre version. The 425hp version will be alot more. Probably have some sort of RT badge or something. Get ready to see the same crap that Ford dealers did with the new style Mustang GT. I think they are still getting MSRP out of them here where I live. Fricken GM dealers will do the same also with the Camaro Z28 and SS. Mark my word. I hope I'm wrong for sure of course. I would take a 425hp Challenger for $24k in an instant. Vitamin C with black RT stripes and a manual please!

I don't think that's gonna matter. In one hand you have probably a limited production Challenger RT and in the other you have a run of the mill vette. No disrespect to the vette but there's alot of them(C6's) out there. Which do you believe will hold value better. Challenger name being reborn and all. Doesn't look like Dodge is screwing it up like the 4-door Charger. The Charger...LOL...the mopar purest have to be dying.

dealers are jus way too greedy with these pony cars. the manufacturers cant even advertise these cars with a straight face at "only" 25 to 30 k. god i dont even think 30k is all that cheap. i drive a 5.0 for christ sake lol personally i think anyone that cant wait, and pays a markup is an idiot. its typically fake car guys who jus wanna be the first one on the block. then the rest of us get them at sticker and mod them so they go real fast.

pimpin ho's- pimpin ho's
I want one bad, would make some sacrifices to get one, but I'll probably have to wait until 09 to avoid the insane dealer mark ups.

09 that is a long way away .. If they come out sometime next year you will see used ones for sale by Dec . of that year . Im thinking 08 they should be able to be picked up about same price as the 07 chargers ...
