How NOT To Fish
Those of you that like to go fishing and aren't new to it should appreciate the humor in this:
-Rev up your engine when you approach a fishing spot. Let the fish know you're coming and they'll swim out of the way.
-When fishing shallow water wear a white shirt and cap so the fish can see you.
-Rattle your tackle box and stomp your feet on the bottom of the boat. Sound travels well through water and fish have an excellent sense of hearing.
-Don't match the tackle to the species you are fishing for.
-Always fish with your back to the sun, especially early and late in the day. The longer your shadow the more fish you can spook.
-When fishing a stream, make sure you find a nice high bank and move around a lot. The fish will see you against the sky.
-If you should accidentally hook a fish, drop your rod tip and let your line go slack. The fish should be able to spit the hook.
-Never change lures. If they aren't biting what you are throwing, stick to it. If you change you may get bit.
-Cast directly to a fish. If you cast past it and retrieve it by the fish, it may grab your bait.
-When fishing live bait, make sure you use the heaviest terminal tackle possible. That way your bait will look un-natural and reduce your chances of getting bit.
-Make sure you wind up and launch the anchor as high as you can so you can make a big splashdown and let them know you are there.
