Red- 99 camaro Z-28
Played with a newer model ford lightning!
I was at a red light when I look up and saw a red 99 to 04 red ford lightning. I not sure what year it was or if was the 360hp or 380hp one? Anyways he runs right up on me almost touching my bumper. The light changes and I start to roll to about 5 or 10 mph. He didnt get beside me because there where cars in the other 2 lanes. Anyways, I punch it in first and I jump about 1 car lenght ahead. I guess with him being behind and me jumping first plus him having a auto. I went through second and pulled maybe 1/2 car and then hit 3rd and by 90 I shut down because of upcoming traffic. Over all I was about 2 cars ahead. I had 3 people in the car and He only had one. Anyways, It was a strong truck. I know it had atleast exhuast because when he pulled around me at the next light it sounded pretty good. I have a 98 z-28 six-speed with 90,000 miles. I just bought it a month ago to be a project car. Right now I just have free mods, a mti hi-flow lid, k/n filter, and a flowmaster muffer that came on the car. I wish I could have raced him side by side with only me in the car, but it still was fun. Let me know what you guys think.

my dad had a pulley/chipped/airaid/exhaust 02 lightning and that thing would ROLL. torque was extremely snappy even just rolling into the throttle it would lean you back hard. wheelspin is a big factor but if they hook youre in for a battle. nice kill BTW

Get rid of your flowmaster muffler!
From what I hear they suck ass. they may be good for mustangs but not ls1s. I wish i would have never of bought mine. It's ok though i just put on a cut out. Now it breathes better and sounds a shit load nicer ,and meaner. Not to mention more HP.

I am planning on getting a hooker cat back system and a set of hooker super comp ceramic coated headers with no cats pretty soon. The flowmaster muffler was on my car when i purchased it. It sounds okay but I can really feel like it is still choaking in the 3000 to 4500 rpm range. Getting back to the race I think it would be fair to say that we would have been pretty close maybe me winning by a 1/2 to 1 car through 3rd gear. I really think all he had was a flowmaster muffler on his truck.
