Gonna change from 18" tires back to 17". Had 18" on my '98 TA for almost 20 years. Got my Bird when I got out, ex-army.

Running 285/35R18 on back now on 9.5" rims. Looking at 315/35R17 on 10.5/11.0 rims on back. Tire shops telling me the rim & tire combo and won't fit.

Any way around this? I've had my TA since it was new and I'm not giving it up and 275/40 isn't the look I want.

Any help would be really appreciated.
