The Benefits of a STB
While browsing youtube, I came across this video discussing the engineering behind strut bars.
I have never noticed a difference on my car with the STB. If it does anything, it probably requires extremely hard driving to realize the performance gain. According to the video, an STB works to cancel out sideways forces during corning. The double control arms on the front of our cars already do this, which explains why no one ever detects a SOTP difference in handling/cornering.
However, it also seems that the STB can act to help distribute road forces (bumps, etc) across both shocks, thereby reducing the... um... shock to the suspension components. The video also alludes to the notion that cornering forces are shared by both sides when an STB is installed, so I assume that the "benefit" is less stress on a given component during a given maneuver.
Here is the vid. Skip to 4:20 if you just want the details relevant to our cars:

As a "drag strip guy", to me it would just be additional weight up front that I don't want.

One benefit of a STB is as a tow bar when your car is up to the wheel hubs in sand.

On my 1993 I seemed to feel a little better turn in and steering feel. Not "a lot" of difference, but some.

Had one a few years ago got rid of it because it was always in the way when I was working on the car or changing the oil etc., plus I didn't notice a difference when driving the car.

I've finally found someone that makes pretty awesome TSB that will clear a FAST 102 intake.
My order is set for the first. PM me if anyone is interested.
Here's a pic of what he offers:
