    Movies

Watched Sicrio last night. Had it's up and down pace but the story was interesting enough to get over Emily Blunts horrible acting in this pic. Felt like Black Mass kinda feel. Worth watching on DVD, maybe at movie if you're board and want to still go to a movie. Couple of dark scenes with Del Toro.

Going to see Crimson Peak tonight. Hey the wife is board....

    Therein lies the rub.

I probably don't watch 3 hours of TV a week, and the only program I watch with any regularity is The Flash.

Even then, when a commercial comes on I tune it out and do something on my tablet.

The last movie I saw was Inside Out.

Nothing that looks worth paying $10 per person to see is out right now.

I was going to see Spectre, but after Daniel Craig's recent whiny fest about being Bond, I'll wait on that one too.

I don't understand why actors who would've remained a nobody if not for being in a cash cow franchise that made them millions, suddenly feel the need to whine about said franchise, as if their impeccable acting skills are somehow now being held back.

Daniel Craig lost me after Quantum of Solace. What a horrible movie that was. I wish Pierce Brosnan would have had better scripts to work with (Besides Goldeneye, which was a fantastic movie). He portrayed the Bond character very well.

FFS, I can't believe all the ranting on Daniel Craig.

The Bond series is arguably the best produced series of all-time. And Daniel Craig has done nothing but elevate that status. These are some of the best action films to date. The latest Mission Impossible is the only flick to come close that I can think of off the top of my head.

I didn't say I hated the new Bond flicks.

I thought Casino Royale and Skyfall were both great.

Quantum of Solace did suck though.

I was just commenting that I don't understand why when the Bond movies have made Craig an international superstar, he feels the need to disparage it when he would be an unknown without the franchise.

Daniel Craig isn't anywhere close to the best Bond. You're taking the Craig movies at face value as a good modern movie. As far as being true to the character, Craig is just meh.

Perhaps a definition of what you expect Bond to be would promote an argument in your favor? So define that first, if you could.

Frankly, if you just say he's not Sean Connery, well that's not fair for Daniel Craig. I think they are different in there own ways. But I think he's right behind Sean Connery. Maybe I need to watch them all again, but he's my 2nd favorite.

Skyfall was a very good Bond movie. Not as good as Casino Royale, but still very good. I read about Craig's whiny fest. I'm not going to boycott a movie that I'll probably like just because some actor does something stupid. Spectre looks like it's going to be very good.

Watched The Last Which Hunter (Vin Diesel) not too bad, not sure why it bomb at the theater, must be that time of yr where ppl are tired of going to the movies.

Spectre and The Hateful Eight are the only ones left this yr I'm looking forward too.

    Next yr is Dead Pool.

Christian Bale complained about being Batman for the same reasons but the movies were still pretty damn good at the end of the day.

Exactly. And Bale is a damn good actor who's well known for his childish outbursts both on set and off. I could honestly give two shits regarding how he acts as long as his movies are enjoyable, and most of them are to me.

I don't know what it is about actors but they hate being a part of big named stuff like this...you would think they would say "oh damn...thats a cool gig to have. I get to be one of the most known and coolest characters in acting history" but instead they bitch and complain about it. Guess they want to make small films with more meaning? I dunno...either way I think the new Bond will be good. Some people like the darker modern Bond films and some dont. I personally like them but I still like the older movies as well.

Same here, I like all with exception to one or two films.

It's funny how those same cry babies have no issues cashing those checks for those big roles. It may be that those movies demand a lot of time and effort and that's why they bitch about it.

It may be that they haven't hit rock bottom in their careers; Look at RDJ with Iron Man. If not for that role I don't think he would be as big as he is now. Johnny Depp - some of his roles I haven't liked but a great many of them he has knocked them out. The Black Mass movie - he showed he could be scary serious too instead of his quirky roles he normally plays.

I think it's because many of these big budget box office money draws offer a lesser degree of creativity, character development along with added stress for the actors and from a purely acting perspective, they don't like it. But of course they take on the roles for the huge purse and global exposure.

Then you have guys like Nickolas Cage that seem to be in every movie out there. He can't still be in debt with the IRS still?
