Ok, As much as I'm for open carry, even I agree that this is really stupid....

A St. Petersburg, Florida man is taking a lot of heat from his neighbors after he built a homemade gun range in his front yard. While the range is situated just feet away from homes where children live, police say it is perfectly legal, according to Florida law, for Joseph Carannate to build a gun range in his front yard.

This is the type of shit that gives gun owners a bad name. I have a range in my backyard but I have to be 450' from the nearest home and be shooting in a neutral direction with no homes in the direction I shoot. I also have to have at least five acres of land and be in step with the noise restriction laws. This guy in Florida is just a moron

few observations.......

-melanie michael ( blonde news woman) is pretty damn hot
-UPS has to love the exposure they're getting being on this moron's t-shirt
-someone needs to tell Ken Welch it's the first week of February so he can take down his xmas decorations and also icicle decorations are more at home on a trailer anyhow
-I don't consider a couple pallets stacked against a pile of sand a "gun range" as much as I do a redneck bullet stopper
-Look for a brand new gun law in St Petersburg in the near future thanks to this idiot.

If it is LEGAL, I would say whoever made the rule of such in the state of FL is a dumbass.

There are some laws still on the books that are over a hundred or more years old, that are ridiculous by today's standards, that just haven't been updated or even thought about until an occasion arises. This would be such an occasion.

One TX law I know still in effect - anyone caught on property after sunset to sunrise may be fire upon without warning. Something back to the cattle/horse rustling days and still a law to this day. Doesn't specified if in rural or city, just says on property. That's why no repo guys work after sunset or at the very least have a LEO knock on the door and help process the repo.

You would think this would have been updated but it hasn't.

After reading that law I'm very surprised more illegals arent shot coming across the border at night when walking through fields and ranches...sounds like open season to me?

true story...this is the same "except worse" than open carrying an AR15 in public just because you can. Everybody knows you can, but that doesnt mean you should.

It's all about using your head. Carrying a AR15 in the woods and the small towns surrounding them fine. Carrying a AR15 in a city like Milwaukee or the suburbs... not fine. It's so F^&*ing simple.

Now I understand some peoples brains don't work quite right. Those are the type of people to keep firearms away from instead of making laws that restrict EVERYONE because of the actions of one man or even a small minority of people.

Good. Always better not to get the law makers involved. I would threaten anyone shooting off rounds in my neighborhood as well. Move to the country if you really want a range on your property.
