Underwater salvage video....on Go Pro
Check out this river I did some salvage in with my business. This video was done with a Go Pro. The water was 35 degrees and I couldn't see anything without the light but the video makes it look 10x better I could only see about 6 inches in front of me with the light. In the video you see a fuel or oil tank that I have been tasked with bringing it up, it appears to be at least 1000 gallons.
With my job sometimes I have to go into Hazmat like conditions but mostly it is just disgusting water but not classified as Hazmat.Last edited by 98TransAmWs-6; 12-26-2013 at 11:58 AM.

Were you successful in getting the tank out? I imagine the Occoquan has a lot of interesting things in it given the amount of history in the area but the water is seldom clear enough to see very much.

Damn Will I thought EOD had some shitty conditions to work in.
No place to be if claustrophobic and no Will never Scuba dive. Wanted to but never got around and can't now with my legs.

I have not gotten it out yet I need to get some heavier duty lift bags to raise it to the surface safely. The clarity is not that bad usually when you get a few feet under. Although it is a water and oil scenario, the silt sits above the clearer water but this time it was way worse.
I can send the direct link if you want.
Yeah this profession is not for those who get panicked easily. I dive in some nasty water, I have to get Hep A and a few other vaccines every 6 months to a year. I was recently in the Baltimore Harbor doing some work and I came out with what looked like algae at first all over me but it was actually sea worms which resemble small leeches but they don't bite you.Last edited by 98TransAmWs-6; 12-26-2013 at 08:30 PM.

I'd be interested in watching. You can give me search criteria on YouTube also if that is where it's hosted from.
