    Tracking Point "Intelligent Rifle"

    Some interesting and scary stuff.

Picture developing a shooting system that could turn even the least skilled marksmen into a sniper-quality shooter.

That plus a computer hud that can calculate trejectory and proper aim for a "near perfect" shot with minimal training.

Think of this in the hands of a shitty shooter in some middle eastern country. Where before they need to get close to have a chance now even the newest recruit could "master" the system and be a real threat.

Looks like it can compensate for it too. They said it can go as far as 1300 meters.

They are still using weapons designed in the 40s, I think there is time before they get anything close to this.

It is somewhat scary to think of this getting into the wrong hands but so are guns in the wrong hands. We can't stop that from happening unless we want to gather up every firearm and keep them out of everyones hands. If someone really wanted they could spend a couple of months shooting and researching how to porperly use a range finder and scope and accomplish almost the same task.

Nifty. With the price tag in the "15,000-20,000$" range I don't think too many Jihadists or mass shooting suspects will be using them. It's kind of like Class 3 weapons on that respect. They cost so much anyone with the money to spend on them is generally not going to risk loosing it doing some dumb stuff. I prefer the thrill of doing it manually but to each his own.
