This happens to me occassionally at home and here's what I do to fix it. Geeks, correct me if I'm wrong, but I've had tech support walk me thru this procedure before:
Turn off your 'puter. Unplug your modem (or turn it off if there's a power switch) and wait for 20-30 sec. Then turn it back on (plug it in). If you have a router connected to the modem, then unplug the router after you unplug the modem and then reconnect the router second after the modem comes back on when all the lights that are supposed to be green are green.
Then turn on your 'puter again. Should be good to go. This is what's called resetting your modem and I have to do it every once in a while.
Hope this helps.

Have you contacted your ISP (Comcast)? Perhaps they are having problems with the mail server.
Are you able to access the internet at all ? or is it strictly your email?

What E-Mail Client are you using? Outlook? Outlook Express? Other 3rd Party Client? Are you using an AV Scanning Engine to scan your E-Mail? Have you updated to the most current Version of IE 6?

If you are timing out, then that is what is happening. Too much time and you lose your connection.
There is not enough detail to know where the problem is, except that if your lan is not connecting youwon't be able to see other computers on the network or get online. if that is the case try running a repair on your network connection. If you have XP you should be able to right click on network connection, properties, local area connection, and then click repair. If it is something simple/stupid, it may just start working.
You may also want to do a full virus sweep, spyware sweep, and check the hard drive for errors. Clean out your temp files from your internet folder, defrag, and when you get reconnected check for updates from MS and your anti-virus and spyware vendors.2002 Street ET Champion New England Dragway
