cable bill
I have Comcast for TV,phone and internet. We have 4 boxes of which 2 are HD/dvr.We have a package deal which also includes the HBO,stars, cinema and sports package. There used to be more HD channels but cut them down. I called and they just said they stopped. Really don't neeed the movie channels as they suck and are repeats most of the time but he said for the price we are paying mind as well keep it as it is. We get to write it off as a business expense but still thinks it sucks. Anyone have att and think I might do better with them? It is kinda nice with all service as one deal.$25 of the bill is taxes.

don't know about ATT (U-verse???), ...but i find the cost/benefit ratio of paying for TV w/ boku channels, most of which are trash, much higher than my level of contentment... ditched cable a few years ago, ...now i'm 1000s of dollars richer today for it..

I have DirecTV. It goes out every big storm. I called to complain about my bill recently and received $20 off for the next 12 months. Wow...$20 whole dollars ...might start looking at ZR1's with those savings
I watch maybe 2 hrs of tv a week. Might just cancel it all together.

I really only watch top gear on the BBC and a few educational series. My daughter loves childrens shows though and my girl loves to watch horrible T.V. shows.
Truth of the matter is all these huge media companies screw us, just as the huge mobile communication companies screw us.
I also always thought it was weird that I have to pay extra fees to rent there box on a monthly basis because I am already paying you for the ability to watch T.V. and if I didn't have a box I would have no service and therefore would not pay you. The box should be free.

So far it seems like if I go with Direct Tv I could save $100 a month. Will be slower internet but for that savings Ill go someplace for free wifi when I need it.

Well seems like I'm gonna get screwed either way. For me atleast I would take the chance and take the savings. It's the wife that is going to complain. I just called Comcast and they said it was $114.94 for phone and internet. The internet was 12mb down. According to the speed test Im getting near 30mb now.

i recomend verizon fios if it's available... similar prices to comcrap... better service... faster, more reliable, steady internet... no retards in their billing department...

With Direct Tv I just got a quote of $103 for the first year that was phone, internet and the choice package with hd channels line protection. That was for 4 tv's and with dvr.The second year was $137. Sams club offers service also through them so gonna ask what they offer compared to the person on the phone.
