Kook headers hitting 3 spots rattle and shake
Well I have a 2000 Trans AM with Kook headers I bought these because they said it would fit perfect Yeah right! It hits on the motor mont drivers side and frame drivers side really bad also on the frame passenger side. On the drivers side we actually cut 1/4 inch in the frame and it still hits any tricks. My buddy has pacesetters and they have tons of clearance he paid 299 for the cheap black ones and I paid 1299 and I get a car that shakes with a lot of noise they are the 1/7/8th to 3" . My muffler guy is really good he says he doesn't want to heat it up any more because stainless might just crumble over the heat I am just about to sell these and buy Pacesetters or just go to stock manifolds but I have a cam and LS6 intake it will kill my set up I think!!!!

Did you check the headers thoroughly to make sure the primaries/collectors aren't bent?
How are your motor mounts? Are any of them worn or broken? Also check your transmission mount. Sounds like something is giving way and allowing the engine to move more than it should.

Also, what type of Y-pipe are you running? You might also have to adjust that.

Agreed, did you do motor mounts at the same time or at least inspect them?
My old Kooks did hit the kmember when i was installing them so i had to grind it down a bit.

Silver- 1999 Trans-Am, 2012 Sonic
First if I paid $1299 for a set of headers I would be ripping them back off and on the phone with Kooks for a return, thay should fit and not hit anything that is why you spent top dollar for quality product.. Maybe someone was having a bad day at kooks when thay were built and something was off when welded..my $500 pair fit great not even close to hitting
