My new coyote rifle

Had it for a few weeks now, but just got my scope in for the 22-250 so I could grab it's scope for this one. It's an AR-15 .223 with a Spikes Tactical lower, Wilson Combat upper with custom bull barrel, and some other custom parts thrown in the mix. Mounted a BSA Contender 6-24x40 scope to it. Zeroed it at 300 yards. Running some 40 grain bullets right now, and am quite happy with the results. About an 8 inch drop at 400 yards. Between this and the 22-250, I think coyotes will be no problem anymore.

Saw 5 of them last hunting season. Unfortunately, I wasn't carrying anything that could reach out as far as they were with any accuracy. They seem to be coming back fairly quickly, too.

Thanks. It does have a 4" sunshade on the end, so that adds a bit of length.

North east. About 50 miles east of Cleveland. Quite rural by me. I've got around 10 acres at my place, but I usually hunt at my wife's grandfather's property. I see all sorts of animals there. There's a bald eagles nest on the property, which is really cool to watch them. There's around 150 acres there, with permission to hunt the nature conservancy that borders it, giving me another 1200 acres or so.

I love bald eagles, my grandparents live on a lake in very north WI. There is a bald eagle nest on one of the islands in the lake. I live in a suburb of a major city in WI and I see deer all the time but we have literally a dozen huge parks in the county and there is no hunting in Milwaukee county so those animals get pretty comfortable.

a couple years ago there were some bald eagles who set up in a tree in a metro park in the dayton area, ... as for coyotes, ..i think they are quite proliferous here in ohio, pretty much statewide i think...

They do seem to be repopulating fairly quickly. I'm going to do my part to slow that down a bit

Yep, but not as quickly as hogs. I want to go hog hunting so bad.

Nice looking AR. You won't have any trouble putting coyotes down with it. Friend of mine has killed 16 in his back yard over the last year and a half, and he's been using a .22 rifle.
