    hitch

I've recently gotten into mountain biking and I need a way to transport my bike. I can't afford a truck yet so is it wrong to temporarily install a trailer hitch on the back of my beloved Z/28?

Why would you need that? I used to transport my bike in the back of my WS6 all the time. I had to take the front wheel off the bike, but it fit just fine.

I've got the trunk area filled with subs and amps. There is no room inside the car and I have T-Tops so a roof mount is out.

I think you have to drill holes in the car to mount one so think about that what about one of them strap on bike racks for the trunk of cars maybe with some longer straps it will work for you

If thats the only way to haul around your bike, then you did the right thing. I would like to see the hitch on your car with the bike on the hitch.

i used a bike rack on the back...just put some rags on the ends so the rubber parts wouldn't rub.

I don't think hes talking about a trailor hitch, but a bracket for his bike to fit on. Thats why I like to see pics when he gets it.

    Gone:2001 Camaro SS #4846

My 2001 SS had the Curt hitch on it when I bought it.

It wasn't too noticeable (black hitch, black car), but I still couldn't remove it fast enough.

It appeared to bolt into factory holes with no drilling required.

I have a hitch on mine but I prefer to think of it as a rear sub-frame brace.

Yeah. I had a rear subframe brace on my '98 Trans Am. I used it to pull a 1600# pop-up trailer. It was funny looking, the trailer was just a bit taller than the car so you really couldn't see the tow vehicle from behind.
Still got 20 MPG towing. We have a Jeep now that tows the camper.

That looks like the stealth hitch I used for my '98, got it from U-Haul. It was hidden when the receiver was empty.

Also, I really like that Bridgestone/Firestone banner you have. I work for them also. Great company.

I think that works out very well. Especially if you ride frequently. I used to haul 2 to 3 BMX bikes on the back of my Chevelle and my Alfa, all over hells half acre every week with a trunk/bumper mount rack. Kind of a pain in the butt to put it on and take it off all the time. But, it wasn't too bad.

I really like this setup because for one I dont have to worry about damaging the paint/finish and for two there is only 1 bolt and the bike carrier is off, takes about 1 minute to remove or install.
