Pewter Metallic- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
i guess i will have to live with them, because $600 is a lot for a replacement, not to mention how much it would cost to have the old one removed and to have the new installed,in fact i dont know anyone in my area who could install it anyway

It will likely get worse over time as these are caused by the adhesive GM used durring the vehicles construction..
The bubbles tend to follow the glue as well..
The panel is also ruined by the adhesive so repainting it wont stop it from comming back..

I think we should generate a class action suit against GM.. LOL

Black- 99 WS.6 - Modified
Most body shops should be able to replace it, but it won't be a cheap fix unfortunately.

My pewter 02 ws6 started bubbling. I let it get pretty bad, only took 6 mos. Took the car to the local chevrolet dealership. Parts man looked at it, sent me back to the body shop. Body shop guy looked at it & said " I can't make a call on this ", gets his boss , the body shop mgr. He looks at it & says the same thing. He calls the dealership mgr out to look at it. He does, & after he asked me if I wanted to sell the car, he says that they can fix it. He had a memo concerning this matter. The dealership replaced the "roof" & matched the paint perfectly. This was in 09, & yes, the car was out of warranty. Here it is 2014 already, & it's still perfect. Now I'm watching my nbm ws6 show the same signs of starting.

Welcome to the site, Iman.
I still have my new panel all painted and ready to install. Someday I'll get around to replacing it.

Just saw your question. Yes, it will get MUCH WORSE than it is in the pic. From 1 side of the car to the other, both leading & trailing edges. My car's pox were confined to the roof top, nothing went down the sail panels.

It is over the curve and onto the very top of the sail panels on our car.

chicken pox
Is it basically a broken up line of pox from side to side? Also, is it on both leading & trailing edges? Can you post any pics of the damage? I know it sucks to look at, esp. since it's the result of a blatant gm error. (If the glue used on the lt1 cars is still good, why in the f*** did they have to change it for the ls1 cars). Dumba**es can't leave well enough alone. I didn't take any pics of mine, it was hideous, but I can still remember what it looked like. Keep in mind, a different adhesive is used today, so when you decide to have it done, you should be good. My pewter car is going on 5 years now, & it's still perfect- the way it should be.

bubbling top
In my garage, I noticed what looked like a drop of water on the roof of my car. No rain that day, so I wonder where the drop came from. First place I look is the ceiling to see if that is wet, knowing there isn't a water line in the attic over that spot. Like I said, it was the consistency of water & no scent. WTF. When I wiped off the 'water', there was a crater beneath it that looked like the first pic in this thread. Now, add about 50 more to make a line from 1 side to the other & duplicate that same 50 to the trailing edge of that panel, & that is what mine looked like when I took it to be replaced in '09. My car is pewter & it lives in a pitch black garage, so it stays cool. It didn't & still doesn't get driven daily.

I think the factory adhesive eats through the panel no matter what. Having the car out in the hot sun simply expedites the process imo.
