my 1st couple of small rifles

I recently purchased a Keltec sub2000 40 cal and a Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm. Bothe are awesome. I bought them used. I keep learning about what to look when I buy used guns. The keltec was bought at a pawn shop and it jammed right away when feeding the ammo. A closer look reveal it was related to the extractor. After some filing it has shot over 200 rounds jam free. I like the fact that it uses glock 22 mags. The Cx4 is my 1st beretta firearm. The Beretta has a bad mag catch release. It is just old. The mag wont stay in it. I fliped it around since its ambi and it works perfect except that is set for left handed shooter. No big deal. I'm planning to order the new mag catch soon. This is my 1st keltec and beretta. Im very impress with the keltec and their factory is in cocoa, fl which is 40 mins away. I already stopped by and got some accesories for it. Here is a pic:

nice man! i was looking at the mossberg 500 but went with the remmington 870 instead, before u go with the mossberg check out the remmington in person and feel both of them out. to me the mossberg had way more shakes and raddles. both of the ones i looked at were new.

I will check them out. Remington tends to be more expensive. I'm looking to keep the shotgun as home defense. I dont care about fancy as long it works. Thanks for the suggestion.

The 870 is not fancy, its a working do all pump shotgun and is the mossberg 500s direct competition. I paid 320 for my brand new 28 inch barrel 12 guage 870 with a black synthetic stock.

I have often though of buying that keltec but i just keep saving for a AR. Good luck with your shotgun purchase, which ever you choose the 500 and 870 are both reliable but IMO the finish and fitment is much better on the 870.

got to handle the CX4 Storm when i was at the NRA convention in May. It felt really solid, had some heft, despite the way it looks ("plasticky", etc.), ...and the interchangeable mags w/ the handgun line are nice, assuming you've got them..

I have shot the high point carbines which closely resemble keltec but cost 300 bucks brand new. They shot pretty nice. These guns are appealing to me because I am setup to load .40 cal pistol rounds. I will buy one someday.

yeah i will check the 870 as well. Im deciding if I should get a small one with pistol grip only and mod it or just get me a tactical one with pistol grip/stock combo. I was looking at high point but alot of people told me bad feedback about them so I went with keltec. I like the sub 2000 and its ability to fold in half. I really trying to save up and maybe get the the new KSG shotgun when it comes out.

I would always want a stock even if it was a folding stock. With just a short pistol grip with no shoulder stock its almost impossible to bring the gun up and actually get your head down on the bead. I know with a shotgun in home defense you dont need to aim all that hard but I still would want to.

As for hi-point they make shitty pistols but decent carbines. I shot two with no jams or issuses and they are used by certain law enforcement groups around the country.
