manta stripe kit
I'm debating on ordering the manta kit with the scoop insert and ditching the side flags. Anyone installed this themselves or is it something that needs a pro to install?

Doesn't seem hard to do.
But I will def get a Bodyshop to do it.
Or maybe a place where they do window tint.
Since The process is similar.

I want to try it on my own but they only give you one hood decal and if I mess up that's it. I just hate having to shell out more money on top of what I payed for it to have in put on ya know?

I bought one and had a hell of a time with it. Make sure it's good quality vinyl and an extra set of hands would be helpful as well. I tried doing it myself and it just wouldn't set right for me. There was no give to it like the anniversary stripes I took off my car. It was very poor quality. Air bubbles everywhere and it just wouldn't conform to the curves on the hood. But, I only paid like $60 or something like that for for the kit. Hood, hatch and spoiler. It was cheap and ended up in the trash.
Next time, if there is one, I'm buying better quality decal first off, and I'd have someone install it for me. I've since found a few guys in my area that will come to my home or workplace to do it.

I haven't put one yet. But I put fender strip on my Z.
Almost same thing.
You should try it.
Just make sure u are not on the sun.
Get a spray bottle with baby shampoo
Spray it on the hood. And on the back of the decal
The most water and soap you use.
Will be easier since you could move around where it has to be
Then when it's already place where it goes.
Try to put pressure on the decal so all the water comes out
Let it dry. And also you could use a hair driyer
Hope that helps and have an idea

Pewter- 2000 Camaro SS
I tried it on mine and it all looked good except about 4 inches above the air inlet on the sides it wrinkled and did not look good. I ripped it off and im going to have a pro do it.

that what I needed to know. I guess I'll wait and save up for the labor costs. I found a kit on ebay for $80 for the entire kit including the scoop insert. No idea how the quality of the vnylal is though.
