The Car Show on Speed

Anyone else watch it? I thought it was 10x better than Top Gear America. It was actually funny (I've always enjoyed Adam Corollas humor anyhow) and the rest of the cast did O.K.

I disagree. I preferred Top Gear America. TGA was more car focused and less on forcing the humor. A lot of people keep complaining about it being a rip off of the british version, but I think they forget that it was never meant to compete with the British version. It is supposed to be like the British version, but meant more for the American audience. I found The Car Show to have some funny moments. I really like the 0-60 segment, but the rest of the show seemed sooo rushed. Too much focus on Adam Corolla trying to be funny and not enough focus on the cars. Hopefully like TGA the shows will get better as they progress through the season.

It was all right from what i watched, Adam forced a couple jokes but I'm sure he'll get better as the season goes. TGA on the other hand i dont care for, the host try too hard to be like the british guys and it doesn't work for them

The few eopisodes of TGA I watched seemed to focus on the 3 boneheads attempting to be funny and like the Brits

I think if people gave it a chance it's get better. The Brits have had 16 seasons to get it down. I recently watched the first few seasons on Netflix, they weren't as good as the later ones. It took them some time to get the show going and build chemistry with each other.

Finally got to watch it today and was massively disappointed. Packing the show full of little gimmicks and games to fill an hour is stupid as hell IMO. If we're using Top Gear as the basis then it should be noted the original Top Gear wasn't a success when it first started, if I'm not mistaken it was actually cancelled then brought back many years later with two new hosts(May and Hammond). Clarkson is one of the original hosts from the original version.

I've seen the show and like all the car talk the guys have on the cars but Adam Corollas hurmor on that car really suck (I hope his humor gets better as the time goes on).

Second episode tonight. I think a lot of the 'forced humor' is due to the writers rather than the hosts. It's not (mostly) improv like Top Gear seems to be. Perhaps in time the show will move away from this, but for now, I do understand some folks 'hate' for this fact.

It sucks. I want to slap the bald guy with my shoe with nails poking out the bottom. AC is trying to hard, JS is a nice guy (met him in Vegas), the older guy looks like he should be on a Viagra commercial.
