Hugger Orange- 1999 Camaro Z28
What's best cure for wheel hop?
1999 Camaro Z28 - M6. Suspension-wise, I've got sub-frame connectors, SLP Panhard and Lower Control arms. The car is making about 350hp at the tires and I've got an Centerforce Clutch and 3.73 rear end gears.
Here's my glitch, I snapped the driveshaft while launching hard (4000rpm) on a pretty sticky track using drag radials. It really felt as though the rear end hopped around a split second before the shaft broke. I had been feeling some wheel hop around town on street tires before, but she really jumped at the track.
I bought a new BMR torque arm (one that attaches to the trans tunnel brace) and am planning to put it in this weekend. The transmission mount on the stock torque arm feels pretty mushy, but is otherwise undamaged.
Before heading back to the track, I need to build up my confidence that I won't be breaking my new drive shaft (got an upgraded cro-moly one from Speed Inc). Thanks!

Being the overkill guy that I am, I did get a set of LCA relocation brackets as well. But I figured I should do the torque arm, do some testing, and later do the LCA backets. Maybe I'll make an exception this time and do them both together. I'm probably entering the "stupid zone"...

Oh, yeah. What kind of shock are you guys using? Something drag specific, adjustable or just a good everyday set of shock?

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Is the new torque arm adjustable? An adjustable TA set with the pinion ~2 deg down cured my wheel hop problems. I also went with the tunnel mount (short) type as it allayed my fears of breaking the tranny tailshaft and it had a DSL.
67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...
2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior
2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

Thanks for the advice 67Camaro!
I did get an adjustable one as well as a magnetic angle checker tool. I guess I can play with the angle...
