CD Player / Stereo Suggestions

My 97 z has a stock radio / casette player and the speakers sound pretty distorted. I need suggestions on what newer cd / mp3 players fit well. (I dont want the thing sticking out of the dash.) Possibly double den player to fill the entire slot from the old factory system. Also what speakers may fit in the factory speaker housings. Any suggestions / pic's ????? Thanks!

id go with roadmasters from wal mart... they have magnets as big as an eraser head.

The stock stereo is 1.5 din sized not 2. The front speakers are 5.25, middle by the rear seats are 5.25, and the rear im not sure if you have monsoon, you can either replace the stocker with a 4 inch and a tweeter, or you can do a little trimming and put in a 5x7 speaker in.

Yes, i was joking about roadmaster, although walmart does sell them still. I have Mb quart components in the rear of mine, and the rest are alpine type s compenents, and they really sound good.

im still rollin the stock speakers, minus the sail panel subs...once you put an aftermarket radio on the stockers, they really come alive! i wont be upgrading them until they blow....

alpine head units are hard to beat. i have a din-and-a-half alpine from a few years back. don't think anybody makes the size these days though.
