Buying headers -- need help
So due to warping I am in need of new headers. My TA has true dual exhaust, without cats. When buying long tube headers for my car what should I look for in a set of them. I've never bought them so I dont know what constitutes the vast difference in price in relation to gains those differences provide. I was trying to keep it to 3-400 bucks for a set. Either way any shopper assistance would be appreciated.

For the price your looking for you be looking at Pacesetter LT's or Ebay Headers.
I have the Pacesetter Ceramic Coated Race Style (No EGR) LTs. I like em.
Another consideration will be if you have an ORY and if it will work with your new LTs.
Most of the time the difference in cost is because of name reconnection. They all produce roughly the same mount of HP gains.
Differences are in the material, coating in how they are made and the size of the tubes.
JET Hot > Ceramic Coating/Stainless Steel > Painted Headers. Painted are the worse thing you can get. One they will burn off and then you'll have rusting issues soon after.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 03-18-2011 at 08:59 AM.

some headers require a bit of cutting on the cradle to get them in... make sure the ones you get have no fitment issues... fitment is really the biggest thing...

Psycho Therapist- I take "the" out of
For the price buy Pacesetters or Hookers. While you are doing the swap, i would recommend throwing in some poly motor mounts. TSP and Kooks make a better flowing header, but I could never justify the 800-1000 for just headers, unless i was doing a supercharger.

I would recommend spending the 500 for tsp. I love mine, I too couldnt justify spending a grand on kooks but now in retrospect I would just for the stainless steel

I have Hooker LTs that are ceramic coated and I got them form Summit Racing for like 450. Also the fitment was perfect.

is your car a daily driver? Does it see much snow? From the looks of your current headers I'd say it has in the past at least. If I were buying a new set of headers I would get stainless ebay headers. Do you have a place that will weld them up for you without cats? Something else to think about.

It used to be my daily at one time... Now its 60k miles on it and I drive it maybe once a week for 15-30 miles. It has seen snow and shitty roads in the past however it doesn't much anymore. All of the above solved when I bought my truck (4wd > TA)! I do have someone who can attach it for me as necessary.
Orion why do you recommend stainless ebay headers, over the TSPs or Pacesetter Ceramics?
