Metallic Navy Blue- 1998 Firebird Formula
"Formula" badge is different color than car(not a decal)??
This is probably a stupid ? but it has bugged me off and on over the years.
I bought my 98 Formula 6 years ago, it's the factory metallic navy blue but has a silver "Formula" emblem on the doors. I have noticed over the years when I see other Formulas on the street and here on LS1.com that from what I can remember the emblems are always the same color as the rest of the car.
I bought the car from a lady who did NO modifications to the car at all, it was bone stock and it does not have one of those overlays on the emblem either.
I just wondered if maybe there was a reason why my emblem was a contrasting color to the rest of the car? I really like how it looks but it just made me curious why others werent the same way?
Like I said its a stupid question but I thought I would throw it out there

I guess I dont know why she would have went to the trouble to paint just those two badges and nothing else? Like I said the car was bone stock including the original tires.
It really looks like it came from GM that way to me?

Sunset Orange- 2001 Z28
could have been done at the stealership. They do little things like that and then charge extra for them.
We just bought a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and they chaged us $160 for some goofy pinstipes they put on there. I know I didn't ask for them.

I've seen people replace their stock badges with colored ones. I almost done it at one point but just went with a decal instead.

You do have a mystery on your hands. The only thing you can do now is if you like the way it looks, let it be. If you don't like it, paint it the way you want it or the way it should be.
To answer your orginal question all Formulas come from the factory with the word Formula painted the same color as the rest of the car.
