    cd player fit

so im looking at getting the JVC Arsenal KD-A815 for my 2000 ta.

it says when i go to checkout

    "What you need to know:

    * Extension kit -- when installed, the radio will protrude from the dash by 1/2".
    * Unbolt or cut out the factory stereo's rear support bracket to make room for your new receiver."

does this mean it will stick out of the front a half inch if i dont cut the little bracket out, or it will stick out even if i cut it out.

your correct on the stereo sticking out if you dont cut out the rear support. they make adapters that stick out like 3/4 of an inch and will allow you to install the stereo with no modifications, but in my opinion they look dumb sticking way out like that. i cut the rear support out of my deck support and installed a flush mount and i like it that way

The bracket is easy to remove. I took pics when I did my Double DIN install:

    Step 1.
    Click for full size
Remove radio. You'll need to cut out the plastic tray, but that is real easy with a Dremel and a cut-off wheel.

    Click for full size
The removed tray and my sexy hand.

    Step 2.
    Click for full size
Bend this bracket out of the way. I pushed it down and this is what I zip tied my PAC unit to that makes the steering wheel controls work with the Kenwood.

One thing I would suggest is to make sure your brackets are sturdy. I made my first set out of sheet metal that was too thin and went back and redid them afterwards.
