Need to burn a DVD...

So I have this movie (well not really) its a wedding that I attended a few years back. The thing is that it's on my external HD. I DO NOT have the original CD of the wedding (which is why its on my HD). I need to burn it onto a CD but its just a bit over the limit (I think my a few gigs). So my question is......

I will most likley need to put the file through DVD shrink/fab. I will need to shrink it down a bit and decrypt/encrypt it again. But once thats done, can I just store it onto my HD and reburn it? Can I just drag it from my HD onto media player and burn a DVD? Will it work? It didnt last time but im guessing because it was too big. Any help guys??? I need to send this thing out by tommorow morning the latest.

I think because its so big it will have to be on a dvd , there is a big difference in size between a cd and dvd. You can shrink it but if its that big already you most likely couldnt shrink or cut stuff off to fit a cd compared to a dvd. Im just rambling though.
