Head gasket choices?
Not sure which set to get. If you haven't kept up with my build. I am running a ls1 block with forged rods and pistons, 243 heads with stock cc, comp cam, dual springs with 1.72 rockers and hi tech pushrods. not looking at installing nitrous or any type of boost at the moment. You never know what the future brings. But for the time being I want it to start and run.
What are the opinions of the masses? I could buy felpro, gm, gm performance, or the most expensive cometic. I am not trying to go skimpy on the last part of the build but money is cutting it close.
Basically I am going to be running high way and mountain roads in higher rpm ranges of the engine. This is in my 944 turbo porsche.

Cometic, 3 layer steel is best IMO. All the high reving jap bikes have them and dont really have problems with head gaskets. I personally will never use felpro again, because I had an 94 lightning with edelbrock heads and arp studs with a 150 shot that was tuned safely blow a gasket at the track and ruin a head. They were the $100 a set stainless steel ring felpros that are supposed to be for no2 or boost. They lasted 2 hits on the bottle.

I really like the GM 3 layer for the NA engines. I really like the 5 layer for forced induction builds or big nitrous.
thanks,
Mark

Silver- 2000 Camaro SS
MLS + Copper spray ftw
Copper spray is overkill, but adds extra sealing capability.
