Thoughts of the automotive past from Doug MarionAs a midwest Corvette and Chevy drag racer (108 wins in 123 final rounds) and a hardcore enthusiast from the wild '60s, the '80s might have seemed tame on many fronts. But it was actually pretty awesome, at least from my vantage point. It didn't start that way, though, at least not for new Corvette owners in California.

thanks, very good reading !! i only had 7 covettes won auto x crosses with 67 bb a-stock class, was not easy /sway bars/hoosier tires.. also won with 85 auto.,again sticky tires .. my sister still has her 82 collector edition, bought new ,all options/ rough ride /crossfire type fuelie .. of all the corvettes like my 2007 zo6 and sons 2009 zr1 best.. i think newer ones are the best.. !!
