Get a lid and be done with it. The power you gain over the other wont be worth the extra money.

SLP lid with a paper air filter. I have an MTI smooth lid but I still use a paper filter.

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
Ditto on the SLP lid and paper filter.
Don't believe the K&N hype.
If you want to go with a reuseable filter, go with the Amsoil one.

i use a 2$ autozone filter. dyno doesnt show any difference than what a K&N would give.
K&N is overrated.

Definitely get a lid and not the K & N Cold Air Intake. K & N might be a little hyped up but paper filters just don't flow as well. There are other high flow options other than K & N. Just make sure you are keeping it clean and oiled.

If oil gets on the MAF, thats where problems start.

The other problem is that the oiled cotton gauze style filters will always pass more dirt into an engine than a paper filter.

Dude a filter is a filter. No way in hell will changin filters get you any noticable power increase. Just throw on a lid with any filter and your good to go.

I use a very nice oil-free high-flow reusable filter in 3 of my cars, AFE ProDryS, flows twice as much air as a paper filter + higher efficiency than oiled filters & paper filters + very easy to clean w/shop-vac (or wash).
