    Need help with a JEEP!

I know this is LS1, But this is my home... and I know we have atleast one person here who knows somthing about jeeps... like Jeep41 lol

heres the deal, a friend of mine has a 98 jeep wrangler with the 2.5L. She always goes like 5 thousand miles over her oil change intervals ect... so I was messing around in the jeep today and when at idle I glanced down and see the oil pressure is at about 10 PSI, I kill it ASAP. She said it has done that since day one and she bought it new. this thing is knocking so hard it hurts my ears, I used the trusty wooden dowel to pin point the source and it is coming from the front main bearing or rod bearing. I know this thing is on barrowed time, so I said fuck it and dumped some lucas in that bitch and now it has the proper oil pressure at idle. Basicly I need to know how long roughly before its over, and if I should just give Jasper a call now lol. I can take a video of it tomorrow if that will aid in answering the question

    Thanks in advance

Ahh..2 things. 1st, the oil pressure sending units suck for the '97-'99 year models. All you have to do to test that out is to hook up a mechanical guage to test PSI. But because you're hearing the knocking coming from the crank area, my gut is telling me it's time for a rebuild.

I remember the day my '83 CJ7 decided to die on me. I had done a short block rebuild, but decided to keep the same head (STUPID mistake). Well, the head was warped and no gasket could stop the amount of oil spraying from the top end. I tried making it to the repair shop, but didn't get very far. The knocking was friggin incredible! I had the back seat full of 10w40 because I kept pulling over to dump 6 more bottles in every...5 miles? lol

love the Fulgore avitar though. I used to be able to kick some ass with TJ Combo. i could pull off a 30+hit ultimate combo like nobodies business.

Yikes. Perhaps there is trash in the pickup screen?
