Whos got their own restaraunt?
So my dad wants to get a liquor license for his restaraunt but its costing him $500,000. Hes still thinking about it but WTF is it so damn expensive? Do you have to get in renewed once it expires or something??

Parents looked into at one time, and that cost is about right... I forget why it was so much, but probably to line the governments pockets.

it also depends on the location.
Few years ago before the market crashed, a license could cost around 1 million. in towns like toms river.

I just dont know why its so expensive? My aunt had a restaraunt a while back and she paid around 100k for hers and her place was much bigger than ours. I hope my dad isnt getting ripped off. How much does a good restaraunt account for liquor sale anually? Should I be able to make the money back and start making profits within 2-3 years?

We had one for years, smoke ban hurt a bit but over all I think it helped in the long run. I smoke a couple cigars a week... But can't see smoking out side my own home.
