Pay cut vs. reduced commute time
I wanted to get everbody's opinion on this subject. I have no idea on amounts of a possible paycut or if any paycut at all, but I have an opportunity to cut my commuting time in half on a daily basis by transferring to another shop closer to home. More then likely it will require a paycut, because my company sucks cock like that.
Travel time should diminish from about 2hrs total to little less then an hour both ways....
Now of course both sides have benefits, and both sides have their drawbacks. What would you base your decision on?

Depending on what your daily driver is cutting 2hrs of drive time could save you alot in gas and wear and tear on the car. But if the cut is signifcant enough to negate this I would not do it unless the 2hr drive is just extremely stressful for you then it could be worth it in the long run.

I commute 40 miles one way to work 5 days a week. I could live closer however I hate the school district in Mobile and where I live I'm an hr from Pensacola and hr 20 mins from Biloxi. I have the same pay no matter where I work. For me it was more of a safe place for my family

You probably need to get your questions on pay and such answered before you can make a decision. Getting back that much of your life would be worth a bit of a cut imo, especially if you have a family.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
I have a grueling 2 mile commute that takes an agonizing 10 minutes to complete, 15 minutes if there's traffic...
BTW, I planned it that way.

in this financial time its better to get bigger pay. if you have a reliable car and know the best routes then you are better off.

You Bastards!!! lol
I realise the benefits of a shorter commute, but at the end of the day your still making less money. I feel like we can always find a way to cut expenses however raising the income is the hard part.
I always attempt to car pool, for me results in about $2/hr raise. opposite driving myself daily. But it is not always available. Where as a shorter commute the car pool would not make much sense, and I would be making less money.
