NJ bears
On Orions post about Karma (and how it is being a bitch by not showing up for him) we got on the discussion of how big the bears are. well here are a few pics, you be the judges.

these were 3 different bears 3 different times, in 3 different parts of the state, I want a rug and bear meat damnit. these brutes will provide alot of both.

Looks bigger than anything I have seen around here. Had bear meat for the first time last year -- really tasted a lot like roast beef with a bit if a twang to it. Not bad.

I'm pretty sure I had bear meat before. Good stuff, better than beef. I definitely saw a bear in NJ. Nothing huge, though.

I am trying to get pics of the one that roams around my neighborhood. she is about the size of the last one in the pics my wife says. 2 times she shows up and I barely missed her, well once barely got away.
My son and I was digging through the compost pile(just grass and leaves) for worms to fish with. the wife calls us in and no sooner we start washing up someone knocks at the door telling us that there is a bear in our back yard. She came through cubs in tow and I just caught a glimpse of her running through where we was just at.
the second time I get home to a shitload of cops,F&G officers, and neighbors in my driveway, she was in the backyard again and my son is screaming "DADDY DON'T GO BACK THERE THE BEAR IS BACK THERE!" told the LEO's that their best bet when she comes through behind the house is to send people down the road to the lake, that is where she goes. she is a sneaky one and I want her laying on my floor.(dead of course)

Make sure your garbage cans are locked down tight. Dont want to give them a reason to be hanging around. Especially with cubs that will learn where to get easy food. At what point do they tranquilize and try to relocate them?

I built a heavy duty "shed" for the garbage cans with locks and everything. that was to keep the possums and Racoons out well before we knew a bear was in the area.
They was trying to get her the day they was here, turns out they was chasing her all around town trying to catch her. Hell if the state would pay me I could catch her,I have my ways, and no not by killing her.
The problem with older bears is they will find their territory again so she would have returned if they relocated her. younger bears that have no territory of their own are less likely to return.

There are so many bear stories and spotting right up the street from me (literally 500 feet). Yet my idiot neighbors still decide to leave shit out near the house all the time.

Central NJ, there have been millions of spotting inside the Watching Resorvation.
