Bellow problems
I am having the hardest time getting this SLP smooth bellow to fit on the throtle body. Any body experienced the same thing? I have an SLP lid and this sould have been an easy swap.

it may require some trimming. My bellows was a little too long and I had to trim it shorter.

Yeah I had a little trouble with this. Being a single bald man, I didn't have a hair dryer available to try to heat it. That's the first thing you should try if you can. I actually poured near boiling water over it to heat/expand it and then I was able get it on.
I think it may need some trimming as well. My lid is sitting a little high and I think it's because the bellows is keeping it high and not letting it settle flush against the airbox. Something else to look for...

Actually as I type this and remember, I think I had to heat it to get it over the lid connector, and the TB wasn't an issue. But either way, try some heat to expand that bad boy...

thanks everyone for the advise. I cut a 1/4 inch off both sides & cut three 1/8 inch slits on the TB side so I could get it around it. Fits great now & looks great also.

Blue 1997 Trans Am(Sold)- Pewter 2001 Trans Am Vert
Had the same problem with mine, trimmed and f**ked around with it for hours. I made shims for my lid to press it down properly and it still didn't fit worth shit. I know all our cars are different but mine definately didn't take the smooth bellow well... it pushed the lid up so much that the tabs are actually perma-bent and even have a few tears.
Long story short, I now have a bitched SLP lid, and a useless smooth bellow sitting in the corner of my garage... worse 60$ I ever spent.

I have seen alot of negetive comments around this site about SLP products. I always wondered why but now im starting to see it. Long time ago... I tried to buy a smooth bellow off ebay & the lady sent me a regular piece of rubber tubing from home depot. Totally did not fit & fought with her about getting my money back but never did & got negetive feedback. Thats been my only bad experience with ebay.

good point, cause sum people dont even have to trim it and it fits fine...me personally, i went back to the stock bellow after tried out the slp, it flex's more and helps any airlid fit better. its just not worth spending $60+ on a piece of rubber that might give you 2 extra horses imo

SLP Smooth bellows = appearance mod. Horsepower gain most likely equals 0
Also it might fit better without the ram air lower box then with it...also its meant to fit more then just the SLP lid and stock TB. I'm way more ticked off about the cheap plastic the lid is made of. those tabs bend way too easy.
