    Oil in my TB?

Took my PP TB out after about 30 miles because it wasnt idling right to replace it with the stock one and there was a thin layer of oil in my TB.......I dont think this is normal? Can anyone explain this?

i always get a very very thin layer of oil(either from the filter or the engine) around the blade. with the little amount of mileage you had on it ..i dont think you should have got that much.

K&N or similar? Is so, had you recently serviced the filter?

That's what I would say. I had oil actually making it past the throttle body and puddling in the bellow.

Doesn't cause drivability problems per say if that's what you mean.

It will however coat the inside of your intake, as well as the intake valves. It also dilutes the fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber.

I think Orion had a write up on how to make a catch can for cheap at the local hardware store.

yep it only takes one WOT run to push oil vapor back through the PCV system and onto the TB

you can make one out of an air line water separator. Might not hold as much as some of the aftermarket catch cans but will still work. You can buy them at any place that sells air compressors and things like that such as Lowe's or Home Depot.

Where does that valve go? Between the catch can and the intake, NOT between the valve covers and the catch can? The water seperator is directional right?

(sorry to threadjack, but seems to be good info for all)

after the pcv and before the intake....make the arrow point towards the intake.

Not really a write up out there that I know of, or maybe there was and I've forgot about it.Pretty straightforward to do. You just put the seperator inline between the pcv valve and the intake.
