tranny breather line?
Iam upgrading the stock torque arm bushing on my A4 98 ta. After removing the torque arm i had noticed that i unplugged a breather line from somewhere. The line is attached with clips to the torque arm but have no idea where the unplgged end ( a t-fitting with a checkvalve) came from. I am assuming its coming from the tranny somewhere but dont know where. Where does this rubber breather hose plug into? Any advice greatly appreciated.

I can't really remember off the top of my head.
I think it's right at the top before the bellhousing. See in this picture:

Here it is from the other side....above the two red caps. I'm pretty sure that's where it goes.

Pics explains it perfectly, thats most likely where its from, i felt around but didnt feel on the passenger side. Thank you. If i dont reply back, that means my hands are stuck in there, lol Gonna be a tight fit

Lowering the crossmember should help.

^^ Exactly. I noticed the open end of the plastic valve on top of my transmission a few months ago and thought for sure I was missing something.

thanks for all the replies guys. I somehow managed to get it back on. But explain to me what the hell a check valve is there for in the first place??

lol, i admit and sorta cheated, i only put the hose on and left the check valv on my tool box. it made it a hell of alot easier puttin it on.
