Bogging a bit
Hi folks,
Just wondering if anyone has ideas on what is up with my 99 Firehawk.
Recently, I have noticed that between 1500 and 2000-ish RPM, my car has a slight bog on acceleration from gear to gear (more so from 1st to 2nd). It is worse when cold. Also getting worse gas mileage than I recall.
I am thinking could be dirty throttle body, plugs or injectors....am I on the right track....or could it be something like a dirty or old 02 sensor? I have not serviced any of these since new and I am the original owner. I do regular oil changes and the K&N filter is maintained as required.
I have a head and cam package, headers and tune and have aprox. 40K kms (25K miles)....dyno'd at 400RWHP. It is fair weather ride (convertible) and only driven 2-3K a year.
Appreciate any guidance!

Have you cleaned your MAF sensor lately? The oil from a K&N filter can gum those MAFs up and skew it readings.

Yeahh.. I took my MAF out the other day, and it looked perfectly fine. Sprayed it and wiped out the crap I could see on it, and my car "feels" better. It feels like it kicks less and just has a more stable idle.

I agree with the others to clean the MAF. I'd also go ahead and change the plugs too.
