    kooks header

    ok so i pulled my new headers out of the box today to inspect them and the passenger side one has a extra piece on top that something bolts to im jus not sure what i bought the race headers 1 7/8 to 3" collect.i have two bungs on the driver side i assume one for the wide band and the other for the o2.but i cant figure out what the extra is on the passenger side its not down by the bung its on top where it bolts to the motor

    Is this what you're referring to??? This pic is of my kook's stepped headers....I'm in Cali and yes that's an A.I.R. fitting. Hope that helps with what you're looking for.

    That is exactly what I was talking about now when you say AIR is it where the one way check valve would go or the egr

    If you've removed your egr equipment and aren't running it....you can get a block off plate for the AIR tube on the header.

    They shouldn't -- I have 1-7/8" Kooks race headers on our car and there are no fittings on the tubes. I was happy to see that it did come with a spare O2 bung on the collector for a wideband.

    It took me so long to get them and there going on Thursday I might either block them or cut the tube and weld the hole

    that works too. I understand you want them on. that stupid backorder sucks. I'd do a blockoff plate since it's there. You never know how emission laws will change. but I wouldn't blame you for the cut and weld. Good luck!

    MASS sucks on there emision already I got a buddy that does the stickers so as long as he keeps his job I'll be good but if anyone else looks they will see the erg isn't there maybe I will just block it to be safe

    That's entirely up to you. It's already there so it'd be the wise decision considering the price of kooks but if you want the clean look..... Cut and weld.
