SS Trucks
Hey what do you guys know about the Chevy SS Trucks? 345hp and 380tq look impressive, but awd sounds like a joke to me. A buddy just bought an '03 and I was wondering if it was as impressive as he's trying to tell me it is.

check out performancetrucks.net, there is also a SS Silverado forum website, just don't know it right now. They can be quite impressive, but the awd adds alot of weight.

I saw a new purple regular cab SS in town two weeks ago. It was beautiful. I would take it.

I own a 2005 SS Silverado and I love it I would like about another 100 horsepower but that will come in time. The truck handles great and the AWD is awsome in the snow.It has the 345 horse escalade 6.0 engine. They only come in extended cab models from the factory and 05 is the last year for AWD.

Opinions R like assholes everyone has one. I think the AWD on that truck suck but I live in South Texas were it never snows. My buddy just bought an 06 super sport truck(red) and that baby is not AWD. The 06s R not AWD. That truck also came w/ a sun roof its awesome. The truck has good power not great but it puts up a 14.7 in the quarter 4 a stock truck and have the 20s on it.

They are nice trucks but very heavy. The AWD ads way too much weight to make this a performance truck in my opinion. I know somebody who put a magnuson blower on his with a bigger cam and good exhaust and it runs high 12's. That just isn't very impressive to me for the amount of money it cost. That motor in a standard cab with 2 wheel drive would be much more fun.

My dads boss bought one the first year they came out to use as an oil field truck. this guy has way to much money. It was so funny seeing an SS with a pipe rack on it. LOL it didnt pretty good in the mud for having 20's and street tires on it. i got to drive it once, i had a blast driving it.

That SS badge is a joke on that truck. I'd rather buy a stripped down 2wd work truck with a v8 and do a custom turbo kit or an off the shelf kit. It could even be an expensive as hell kit and the total cost of the project probably wouldn't come close to the sticker price of a "SS" truck. I know a guy that put down over 700 rwhp on a twin turbo'd 5.3. Daily driven
