A battery terminal puller works well to remove wipers. Otherwise pushing and pulling the wiper towards/away to/from the glass will sometimes free them up

Use the puller. It works and is not very expensive. Better than buying glass.

For future reference a pair of channel locks work good. Screw the nut on a few threads and put one jaw under the wiper arm and the other on the nut/stud and use a little muscle. They will pop right off.

I'm glad I found this thread !!! I needed to replace my cowl panels ( the ones under the wipers ) and I was just going to try to pry the wipers off. Glad I didn't. Proly woulda broke the windshield. I used the channel lock method since I don't own a puller and it worked rather well. Hopefully, that's the last time I have to remove any of that. Thanks for all the advice.

Doesn't hurt to keep a puller for future repairs. I keep one in my tool box.
