yea i wanna see this too. I am sorry but I have no sympathy for stupidity. First of all the trainer was getting in the water with an animal that has the name KILLER in it. And second that whale had already killer two people in the years past. What the fuck is wrong with people.....oh yeah they are stupid

And from what I've heard the trainer was dragged to the bottom of the tank so there I don't imagine there being much to see either.
Stupidity? There have been decades of daily safe interactions between these killer whales and their trainers, yet out of all the stupid things humans do (endless list), you use this freak accident as an example of human stupidity?
Judging by the deaths over time, I would say taking a bath would be more 'stupid' that playing with killer whales

Animals are animals. You take a risk in being around any of them. You hear stories of dogs turning on their owners but I would still never suspect my dogs to do it.

Yes I use this death as an example of stupidity. And it was not an freak accident it was completely preventable. Dont get me wrong I am by no means a PETA person what so ever. I love steak and chicken etc etc. And I understand that there are reasons some of these animals are in captivity, for example to save their lives for whatever reason. But do I think being in the water with an animal called a KILLER WHALE, more specifically one that already has killed two people, is stupid...your damn right I do. You are just setting yourself up for disaster.

If i'm not mistaken, wasnt the woman standing on the deck of the tank and got pulled in? I was under the impression that for the most part killer whales were peaceful animals..... However an animal that large DOES NOT really belong in captivity and doesnt like it either.

If I remember right from the news, she fell in.
Just curious, those of you who think this was human stupidity, are any of you the people who defend the breed when it comes to pit bulls?

She got PULLED IN people. ALL the eye witness accounts say the whale grabbed her so stop bagging on her for swimming with it. Also 3 whales were involved in the first trainers death and that dipshit that hid so he could swim with the killer whales deserved what he got.

Fact: There has never been a documented case of killer whales killing a human in the wild. It's not the breed...it's captivity and training. They have no place in some tank. Great White sharks can't even be kept alive in a tank it stresses them so much, you can't tell me it doesn't mess with the whales.

Personally I'd think that it is no ones fault what happened to this trainer along with the other people explained in the article.
I've had a lot of experience with Sea World animals. Seeing as my uncle is the Director of Sea World San Diego, for the past 30+ years there rarely are aggressive animals. However the orca's are the only animals that i have no had any contact with.
These animals respect their trainers and are quite uses to people. Even polar bears, which I've Been so lucky to feed. Artic fox's I was alone in their cages playing and feeding them. The Sea World animals are amazing. Manatees are by far the sweetest of them all as well as the beluga whales.
But as far as orca's go, they are the riskiest of them all. Unpredictable at times. But anyone who enteracts with them know the risk. And that's part of their job.
