Texas Speed Headers
Anyone have these headers on there vehicle:
http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp...d=899&catid=20
Thinking about buying them. My friends has SLP headers, but I don't really wanna spend that much on header. Wanted to know if they are jsut as good as a pair of SLP headers or Kooks.

Stay away from SLP. You will find most members here hate SLP products with the exception to the Air Lid and Line-lock for the breaks. I have and like TS&P ORY.

i think that was the old style slp headers. theyve redesigned them for much better fitment and ground clearance now

avric 3 is correct, the old tuned length headers had clearance issues. but they now have regular long tubes available, that offer much better clearance. as far as texas speed goes they make great products but their 1 7/8 headers are a little to big in my opinion for a street car. unless your going all out drag car, i think a 1 3/4 header would be a better choice.

Yeah I was also thinking about buying the new SLP headers that have better ground clearance.
SMWS6TA how is the ground clearance on your headers?

Not sure why anyone would buy SLP headers when you can practically get Kooks (which are the best header you can buy almost, if not the best) for almost the same price...

Had them. Will never EVER even consider them again. I actually try to convince people to NOT buy them.
After one year on a fair weather car....these were my SLP's....
Kooks are pictured as well. They have now been on the car for 4 years (almost 5) and look 100 times better than the SLP's did after a year.
Nevermind the SLP's hanging low...they rust too.
As for the TSP headers. Friend of mine (Dan) is really happy with his.

Stay away from SLP! I have been looking into the TSP set-up too. One thing i know about TSP is that they have great customer service.

I have the TSP headers and x pipe systems, I would recommend doing the motor mounts to polys or solid which is a Pain but worth it. But with the mounts headers fit good no problems

Thanks for all of your guys feedback. I won't be getting SLP headers. I'll be getting either the TSP headers or possibly kooks if I can save up enough.
