Credit Card theft.
Not sure how or why but somehow my debit/credit card got jacked. They did't physically take it as I have it in my possesion but somehow they got my information. Was checking my account a few days ago online and noticed some weird withdrawls. There were 4 withdraws of exactly 69.78 from SERVICIOS TELEFO SERVICIOS TELEFONIC MADRID ES. I had ordered some car parts a few days before but the company name in no way shape or form resemble that name or any thing I ordered was 69.78. E-mailed the company I ordered from to find out if that was them they said no. So I called my credit union and they canceled my card and will be reimubursing me the money assuming everything checks out, which it will as I have no link to this company or anyone in madrid spain nor have I ever bought anything there. Kinda suck but I should be getting my money back. Anyone have it happen to them?

Yep... Someone jack my debit card and racked up $1,800 worth of shit online... My bank noticed it before I did... But I only check my bank a couple days after I use my card. But they refunded all my money back and gave me a new card.
I think majority of the people get there shit jacked at least once.

I'm always paranoid about this. Not only my hey-this-works-as-money cards, but everything in my wallet. I'm always checking to make sure it's still in my pocket.

I check my balance online to make sure this doesn't happen to me. People who lie/scam should be fatally shot IMO. Hopefully whoever stole OPs money will get caught...and SOON. I think the laws in Spain are more strict than the U.S. but I could be wrong.

My brother was pick pocketed about 6 months ago one night when he was out and about town. That would definetly suck, he had to cancel all his cards ect. I think it was a sat night was well so I had to lend him some money since he could't get any money untill monday due to the bank being closed sunday.
I sucks not having a debt card, I use that thing for everything almost never have cash on me luckly I did have $75 in my wallet still from x-mas so i've been using that. I still have my CC card but having to sign everytime I use it is a pain especially if its a $1.50 coke at work.

It will cost way way more than the $280 they stole from me to fly to spain and back. My banks fraud department should take care of it for me, not really sure how or what exactly they do, if they just turn the info they gather to the athourities or what. I should hopefully get my money back from the bank. The lady I talked to made it sound like it was no big deal and I would indeed get my money she was very nice and helpful. I was actually plesently surprised I was expecting it to be a royal pain in the A** to have to deal with the bank about bogus charges on my account.

I'm surprised mine hasn't been stolen. I try to limit buying stuff over wifi and my cell but that's it.

I've never had mine taken and I buy a ton of shit online. But, my husband has. He doesn't even use a computer. There were charges that came up on his card. Some guy started a website and ordered a bunch of games etc...
So, I'm guessing that it happened at a gas station or restaurant or something like that. You really have to watch when you hand someone your card. Even ATM machines, gas pumps and the like. There are inserts that thieves put in them and then retrieve them later with your info.
Always check your accounts for bogus charges. Don't wait for your monthly statements. Check online at least once a week.
