Turn the key to the on position, don't turn on car, hold down the trip reset button next to the gauge cluster, its the little black stick sticking out of the cluster, hold it for about 10 seconds the change oil light will blink then turn off and voila ur done,.

Hold down the Trip button for 12 or so seconds. Light should flash.

Or, Turn key to run position, don't start the car. Push the throttle pedal down 3 times. Turn key to Off position.

    Both will reset the light.

The 2nd will work if your not wanting to reset your trip if your watching the mileage or something.

Throttle one works on lots of cars- use it on my wife's Dodge Caravan as well.

^^^That's one thing I wish the government would step in and standardize on cars, stomp the gas pedal 3x to reset the oil change light. Can't believe I actually want the government to interfere like that! You've had the fun of resetting Volvos and some Nissans? Hondas used to be pretty simple, but now they need to be on Trip A for some.

And they should standardize the way TPMS is.

The peddle reset like Hipo was saying is for those whom want to keep their mileage like some folks whom calculate their gas mileage every fill up.. The key is for those of us whom just want the stupid light out.. I'm not sure what exactly triggers it but I think it's something like counting engine revolutions or ignition cycles the light is triggered.

They are the ones who forced the TPMS upon us... after the firestone and ford incident that is. But TPMS is a pile of CRAP!!!

Those are some of the parameters. Some of the things the PCM keeps track of: Engine temperature, and how long it is at that particular temp; RPM, and how long/what revs you drive; miles since last reset. There are more, I'm sure. It's not just a mileage counter. I've had my light on as soon as ~2500 miles, and as late as ~5500.

It sure makes it easy (when it works!) for those who don't want to check their pressures tho, or those who can't do it. But it sucks that there are many different ways to reset the light, and it does make it a lot harder to do a simple tire change. Not to mention, if the TPMS system needs to be reset every rotation!
