buying an Lq9 need help please
hi all,
I am seriously thinking about purchasing an Lq9 that I have found but the guy has pulled the accessories and the valve covers off... that is the only thing that he has pulled... the price was 1500.00 and had 50K... any thoughts on the price?
and can anyone tell me WHY you would pull valve covers and nothing else?

He probably pulled the valve covers to go with the coil packs, 1500 is a little pricey from a individual, Have you called a salvage yard? Here in nc I can get a lq9 for 12 complete with a warranty. Go to car-part.com and check in your area.

I would look around for a while first... 1500 seem's high for a used truck motor...
and I know you can get a new block from a dealer for around 600... so if your gonna do a full build I woundn't waste the money on a used one when a new one is probly in stock at your local dealer...
what kind of power are you looking for out of it?
