1g ipod touch defect?

Alright so i have a 1g ipod touch that i want to screw up so i can either get a new 2 or 3g touch.
So does anyone now how to do so without physically breaking or drowning it in water thanks

I thought the smallest Ipod Touch you could get was an 8gig. How would rendering your old one result in gettin an upgraded model? I is confoosed if its a warranty deal they'll probably just give you the same model I would think.

Apple has a great warranty service, they usually give you a new or refurbish model off the shelf. He has a first gen. Try overheating it, Microwave that bitch... Hell if I know.

i was thinking about putting the usb charger wire on the ipod then hook up the other side to some jumper cables and let it have it its covered by best buys warranty and they gont carry the 1g any more just the 2 and 3g

1g means First Generation, not 1 gig.

To the OP, if you have a lot of accessories for your 1g, be aware they may not fully work with a 2g.

The ipod adapter in my car would play music from my 2g touch but would not charge it. I ended up going back to the HDD model I was using.

I also have a boombox with an ipod dock. Same thing there.

Why not just sell it? It would sell on craigslist in a heartbeat.

By purposely nuking it you run the risk of the warranty being denied, then you have no ipod nor $$ for it.

not exactly theft i paid for the extended warranty 100 bucks extra and im sure as hell gonna use it
