Shipping large products
Who is the best/cheapest provider for large products? I am looking to ship my LS1/Trans, I think I found a buyer. This will also be helpful with shipping other large products from my car, such as wheels and hood (I know some of you wanted).
Also, how much does an LS1 with A4 weigh? What is the shipping class thing?

Go the the local dump and weigh it...for more accurate than base curb weight.

With the way the shipping industry is going right now I would shop around for the best price.
Check the following LTL shipping companies
Yellow
ABF
UPS
Fedex
R&L

Alright, thanks guys. I will check the following stated. I just need a quote, so what is the average weight for an LS1,A4,Wire Harness, and Computer? So I can get a quote for the guy and let him know about what he has to pay. I will not get to pull the engine till the weekend, but he just wants a quote mean time.
Also erikzola contacted me, I guess he works for a shipping company? Anyone used him before?

A complete ls1 weighs in at 430 so the tranny I suppose would be another 200 with converter. Say 650 to be safe? Btw Steve I'm like 20 mins from Eustis Ive got no problem giving you a hand one of the days on the weekend, if I can pick up the exhaust when I'm there lol. If you need me lemme kno. Dan-

Alright, thanks. I am keeping an eye out on that ebay page you sent me. If it's ends close to what you said, I will let you have it. It's at $201.00 at the moment. I just don't want to miss something if it goes for $500, as I need some money at the moment for a new car, so I can't be cheap. I need to go though my car take better pics. Then put a nice for sale section in the parts depot.
